What can I do to toon out noises around me such as gum popping or pen clicking?
I don’t just mean that I’m annoyed by these things, I can become borderline crazy. It’s like when your eyes get dialate and you can’t block out the light, that’s how I am with repetitive noises. I’ve tried ADHD medicine, no help. It’s starting to get in the way of my relationships with people. I can’t stand being around people because they all make noise.
I can’t wait to see more answers to this. I just searched for questions on gum popping and you summed up how I feel perfectly. I have to deal with it every time I have to fill in for this one person at work and I have to listen to it for 8 hours straight.
I cannot focus on anything when it’s going on, same with pen clicking, finger tapping, clipping of fingers, and whisteling.
The person who is doing it around me is doing it in an office inviornment and it doesn’t seem to bother anyone but me in this particular office. It drives me crazy within 5 minutes or less.
The person doing is is not approachable, someone else asked her to stop before and she made things difficult for her at work in other ways, she’s at a level to do that. I can’t do anything like put a not in a suggestion box because when I work in that office there are only 3 of us, and the 3rd person usually has headsets on (part of the job) but I have to answer phones so I can’t put in earplugs or I-pod.
I come home from work so frazzeled from it sometimes.
